RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: 2011 - 2012

Gathering, Learning and Growing Together

Generations of Faith Program.

How the sessions work:
The adults go to the adult session (including the parents of the Religious Ed children) taught by Father Steve. The children go to their lessons. Each family receives an assignment to take home to work at throughout the month and is returned the next Sunday session.

What is the struction of Generations of Faith?
Each meeting will include:

  1. A Prepared Meal – Following the Mass at St. Peter, the parish will provide a light breakfast in St. Peter Hall so that families can eat together and socialize with other parishioners.
  2. Opening Experience – This will include a prayer, an introduction to the topic of the lesson and any other sundry items necessary.
  3. Learning Sessions – The sessions will be designed for different age groups but cover the same topic. This will allow a person, young or old, to receive their instruction geared towards their level.

What is the curriculum?
Our parish wide cetechesis (faith formation) for 2011-2012 will be focused on the Creed. The sesions will be approximately one hour long. At each one of the eight sessions we will learn about the different aspects of the Creed we profess in the Sunday Liturgy. The sessions will be held on the first Sunday of every month beginning in October and ending in May.
